Happy Sunday! Happy May Day! Happy Almost Summer! Happy phrases that necessitate exclamation marks!
The sitch: I got up this morning, had my coffee, saddled my horse (a.k.a put a leash on my 11-pound terrier) and went out into the cruel, 70-degree world, searching for May flowers to photograph for you, my faithful reader. What began as a lovely exploration in the colorful blossoms around Newport Beach quickly escalated to a photographic exposé of a rusted art gallery lurking at the end of an empty parking lot. This was then followed by an impromptu photo session of newly found street art that on first glance appeared to be a rat regurgitating green paint but on second glance was actually discovered to be a rat spilling green paint. Head cocked in the opposite direction of this paint spillage, the rat made it pretty clear he was not only a too-cool-for-school street rat but also one with a serious littering problem.
Sigh. Here are the photos. Make of these what you will. Oh and have a happy first day of May.
