As the merry sound of sleigh bells fade and we gather up our sparklers and sequins, it’s time for another round of New Year’s resolutions! I have a long list that I may or may not get around to fulfilling (stick-to-itiveness is also on my list), but the resolution I’m most excited about is: being more social.
I have a bad habit of reclusing into my home office and unintentionally hiding from my friends and family. Despite how much I want to spend time with my loved ones, I just forget to make it happen! I don’t love leaving my house but I love hanging out with my people. Joss & Main sent me a few things to help me get the best of both worlds! Winter Sangria:
1. Combine the following and stir:
- 1 medium-bodied red wine bottle
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup apple brandy
- 1 granny smith apple, diced
- 1 pear, diced
- 1 orange, sliced
- 2 cloves
- 2 springs rosemary
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise
2. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
3. Stir before serving and top with:
- ginger beer
- fresh cranberries
- 1 ounce lime juice
- 1 rosemary sprig
4. Enjoy!
Prosecco Mint Julep:
1. In your shaker, muddle:
- 1 mint sprig
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
2. Add 2 ounces of bourbon and shake over ice.
3. Strain and pour over fresh ice.
4. Top with 3 ounces of Prosecco and garnish with a sprig of mint.
White Snow Cosmo:
1. In a shaker, combine:
- 3 ounces vodka
- 1 ounce triple sec
- 1 ounce lime juice
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- 6 ounces white cranberry juice
2. Run a lime around your glass and rim with sugar.
3. Garnish with cranberries and a sprig of rosemary.
