Melissa is the founder and CEO of little word studio. A native of New York, Melissa now lives in Newport Beach, Calif. She wrote her first story at the age of nine, (something about evil witches and shoelaces), and has been writing ever since, earning a B.A. from Columbia University and a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications. Prior to launching little word studio, she served as global director of PR, communications and digital media for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, the youngest ever employee to be named director at the company. Before Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, she was contributing editor for REALTOR® Magazine, the publication for the largest trade association in America. She also serves as founder/editor-in-chief for Newport Beach-based West Oceanfront Magazine, awarded by Feedspot as the “Ten Best Coastal Lifestyle Magazines.” Melissa also frequently contributes articles to Forbes as a member of the Forbes Communications Council, an invite-only community of senior-level communications executives. Her writing has appeared on the cover of REAL ESTATE magazine, Inc., Fast Company, Las Vegas Review-Journal, Philly.com and more. In 2018, she was named by Z Publishing as one of “California’s Emerging Writers.” When not writing, you can find Melissa hanging out on the beach and playing with her crooked-eared little dog, Austin.
